I’m very excited about this album I’ve started.
I’m currently studying abroad in Jönköping, Sweden.
My most recent album was more of a reflection of the moments that I went through during my first year at college last year. Most of the songs on the album, I feel were showcasing the production side of my music. I loaded almost every song with several instrument tracks. I recorded it all in my dorm room in Chicago, and in my sister’s old room in my house in Minneapolis. I guess looking back at it, I feel it was very overproduced. But I’m still proud of it.
There are two songs on that album, Dinosaur Zoo, that are very underproduced, that being A Voice That Matters & The Caged Bird Song. Both of these ballads are just me on the piano. These might be my favorite songs on the album. That’s why I decided while I’m here in Jönköping, since I can’t ever seem to take a break from making music, that this new album will be very organic and completely raw. Just me with either a piano and/or a guitar.
It would have cost an arm and a leg to have shipped all of my music equipment to Sweden. So I could only afford to bring a guitar and a small Tascam-DR07MKII portable stereo recorder, I’d bought this summer, with me. So everything heard on the album will be recorded on that, unless I weaseled my way into some random Swedish studio.
In a few days, I plan to release a song from the album, just to show what I’m working on.
Thanks for any support or promoting any of you are doing. It makes me feel incredible.
Stream my album on Spotify, and if you like it, buy it on iTunes!
